U.S. Department of Justice Second Amendment Action Tracker

This Department of Justice Second Amendment Action Tracker picks up where the Pam Bondi Action Tracker ended – with Ms. Bondi stepping down as attorney general.

Our entire goal with both trackers has been to document the actions of the nation’s top law enforcement agency (the Department of Justice) under a President who signed the first-ever executive order to protect the Second Amendment. The DOJ oversees the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives), as well as the litigation arm that upholds and defends legislation related to gun control issues. As such, the most significant actions related to the Second Amendment under any administration will always come out of the DOJ. And to date, it has taken historical and unprecedented steps to secure Second Amendment rights, including the creation of the Second Amendment Section, under the Civil Rights Division.

The tracker will document the most significant actions of the DOJ (regardless of administration) as it relates to gun control measures, including administrative rule-making and review, litigation, affirmative lawsuits, amicus briefs, oral testimony, etc.
