Law-abiding Californians just got the best Christmas gift: Firearms Freedom! Citing the very similar New Jersey carry killer law making virtually the entire state off limits to legal concealed carry, a Federal Judge enjoined California’s SB2 carry killer bill, stopping it from going into effect on Jan 1, 2024.
With the force of the Bruen ruling behind them, Second Amendment groups have brought a much needed challenge against the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and the California Attorney General. At stake is the constitutionality of the abusive amount of time it takes to receive a concealed carry permit.
Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett just issued a directive to Illinois and the city of Naperville. They have until December 6th to submit their arguments supporting their “assault weapons” ban.

The decision was outside of the bounds set forth in the Bruen decision and clearly unconstitutional. Now we have our day in court.

Although we shouldn’t have to “qualify” to exercise a core civil right, the State of NJ has eased the PTC qualifications to a more reasonable level and extended the deadline to December 31, 2023, thanks to the hard work of Dan Schmutter and Scott Bach of ANJRPC, Evan Nappen, and Anthony Colandro (Gun for Hire).
