Massachusetts Latest Version of Their Own “Carry Killer” Bill To Be Voted On Thurs 2/1
Last year, devious Massachusetts State Representative Michael Day put on an 11-part Gun Law Listening Tour, pretending to hear both sides of the anti-gun/pro-gun positions. Immediately after, he put out a lengthy bill that strips your gun rights like nothing we’ve ever seen before. It failed.
Round two is being voted on tomorrow, Thursday, Feb 1.
NYS Threatens to Sue Other States for Selling Ammo to NY Residents
New York State legislators have an egregious new bill on the table that demonizes New York gun owners and will punish them and out-of-state dealers for trying to save a few bucks on ammunition. We all know Kathy Hochul will sign just about any bit of gun control legislation that makes it to her desk. Remember, its much easier to kill a bad bill before it becomes law than it is to get it overturned after it becomes law.
SAF Challenges Federal Prohibition On Marijuana Use & Gun Ownership
Today, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) filed a federal lawsuit challenging the prohibition on firearm possession for marijuana users. Does this prohibition have any historical backing or will it fall under Bruen?
Third Circuit Protects 2A Rights for 18-to-20-Year-Olds
Another gift from Bruen today. A three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit correctly interpreted the Bruen ruling in recognizing that 18-20 year olds do not have a different set of rights than those aged 21 and older.

9th Circuit Appeals Court Again Steps on the #2A
As expected, a motions panel of the largely anti-gun, anti-rights, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals stayed the preliminary injunction that would have prevented California’s carry killer bill, SB2, from going into effect. Unfortunately, SB2 is now in effect statewide.
US Federal Judge Stops California Carry Restrictions
Law-abiding Californians just got the best Christmas gift: Firearms Freedom! Citing the very similar New Jersey carry killer law making virtually the entire state off limits to legal concealed carry, a Federal Judge enjoined California’s SB2 carry killer bill, stopping it from going into effect on Jan 1, 2024.

Appeals Court Knocks Down Maryland’s Handgun Licensing Law
The Bruen ruling, handed down in June 2022, keeps the wins coming. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals enjoined a Maryland handgun licensing scheme from being enforced. While this decision is currently only binding on the fourth circuit, it has potential for much wider reaching implications in other circuits.
