NRA Women’s Programs Committee to Host Dessert Social at Great American Outdoor Show

Women represent the fastest-growing demographic of gun owners, but from my own personal experience, the world of gun ownership can be intimidating for women. At the NRA, our goal is to change that going forward.

The NRA Women’s Programs Committee has been looking for ways to bring our ladies into the fold and get them more involved, while offering an environment where they can feel comfortable around their peers. That’s why we’ve decided to host a special, ladies-only event – a Dessert Social – during the upcoming Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The event is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Small Arena at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. There is no cost to attend. You can find details here and submit any questions you may have.

The Dessert Social will offer a relaxed and welcoming space for women to connect, learn, and build confidence around responsible firearm ownership and awareness. Attendees will have the unique chance to meet and chat with several female Directors from the NRA Board of Directors. We hope this will foster meaningful conversations in a supportive environment.

It’s important to know that this Dessert Social is designed specifically for women at any level of interest – whether you’re new to firearms and simply curious about what the NRA offers, or you already possess a deep level of knowledge and skills. I personally invite you to attend and enjoy an assortment of delicious desserts, along with tea and coffee, while exploring the array of NRA programs created to inform, empower, and unite women in the firearms community.

The event emphasizes comfort and inclusivity, allowing participants to engage at their own pace, ask questions, share experiences, and discover resources tailored to their interests. It’s the perfect low-pressure setting to meet like-minded women, learn about educational opportunities, and celebrate the growing community of female firearm enthusiasts.

And of course, there will be some special perks for attendees. The first 50 attendees will receive a goodie bag and there will be an exciting raffle for new members.

I look forward to seeing each of you there. Please don’t miss this opportunity to connect, indulge, and empower yourself in a warm, community-focused atmosphere!
