Whether you like them or not, Glock handguns are among the bestselling handguns in America, which is why they are under attack by the originally-appointed Governor of New York State, Kathy Hochul.
There is a new bill in the New York State Codes Committee that should be concerning to all New York gun owners. A.199 would ban any semi-automatic pistol with a cruciform trigger bar that can be readily converted by hand or with common household tools into a “machine-gun” solely by the installation or attachment of a pistol converter. This bill is similar to NYS bill S9225, which did not advance past the Senate Codes Committee. It was introduced on May 7, 2024, referred to Codes, and then died in committee at the end of the 2023-2024 session.
Although New York’s state legislature has already created an extensive list of unconstitutional gun laws that are now in the books (which do nothing to reduce the crime rate) they are still not happy. Their next step is to ban Glock altogether and prevent them from doing business in the State of New York, but because of the way the bill is written, it could potentially ban all handguns that could be converted to what they call “machine gun” status.
Ingenuity and technology will always find a way to make modifications to just about anything in modern society, but not all upgradable devices bother Democrats as much as guns. The automobile is a great example. Heck, you can add 100 horsepower to a car by adding common upgrades and modifications, but put a pistol grip on a rifle that has a detachable magazine, and you could find yourself in trouble with the law.
We should all know by now that gun laws are not created to keep people safe, even though that is how they are sold to the public. Gun laws, especially in states like New York, New Jersey, and California, are for the purpose of Democrats disarming their political opposition. Yes, they want you to be unarmed and defenseless. If that means a slow, creeping death to our Second Amendment by implementing a consistent stream of new gun regulations that will take years to fight in court, that’s what they will do. They are in it for the long run, and by hook or by crook, you, the average American citizen, will be a subject of the state if they have their way.
The public has had a chance to witness NY Governor Hochul’s inability to govern. Subsequent to her massive defeat under Bruen, she has looked like an incompetent fool in the eyes of many whom she represents. This is primarily because, as we always say, “criminals don’t pay attention to gun laws.” Now, it looks like Governor Hochul is trying desperately to regain some bit of dignity, and it appears she thinks doubling down on gun laws will help her look good in the eyes of her angry, anti-gun supporters.
If this new legislation gets signed into law in the State of New York, possession of any handgun fitting the bill’s description could bring with it a class D felony. A class D felony could mean seven years in jail. Let’s remember that one of Kathy Hochul’s first moves as Governor was to authorize the release of 191 Rikers Island inmates. It’s clear who Kathy Hochul supports. She is for the criminal and against the law-abiding citizen, especially if they don’t vote for her. Kathy Hochul and her gang of Communist Legislators will turn lawful gun owners into criminals overnight and punish them with more severe penalties than those given to rapists and armed robbers in the state of New York.
Let’s not forget that the New York State legislature, led by Kathy Hochul, continues to refuse the implementation of a “stand your ground” law in the Empire State, which would allow citizens to defend themselves. Why? I think by now we can all see that Democrats have been intent on creating a victim/predator society. Criminals bring with them the chaos that Democrats need to stay in office, and law-abiding citizens are easier to control when they are unarmed and vulnerable.
Kathy Hochul has done a terrible job governing the State of New York, and she knows it. Crime runs rampant, taxes are sky high, and with the help of her Comrade Zohran Mamdani, together the two are in the process of flushing New York City down the Hudson River. Everyone knows she has been a complete failure, and she appears to be at a point of desperation. New York State gun laws only lead to more victims because they put the leverage in the hands of criminals while making law-abiding citizens vulnerable to attacks and gun owners susceptible to legal action… But New York Democrats simply do not care.
The Second Amendment is not a privilege. It’s your right.
