The Alternative Mass Media Conference (AMM-Con) is gearing up to make waves on September 26, 2025, at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek. Held in conjunction with the 40th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC), hosted by the Second Amendment Foundation and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, this event promises a dynamic platform for media enthusiasts and Second Amendment advocates alike.
Unlike previous years when AMM-Con was exclusive to media professionals, the 2025 event opens its doors to anyone passionate about spreading the message of gun rights through modern media. Whether you’re an established journalist, a budding podcaster, a video content creator, or simply someone with a social media presence, AMM-Con offers a unique opportunity to hone your skills and amplify your voice.
The conference will feature a robust lineup of sessions designed to empower attendees in the ever-evolving media landscape. Topics include:
- Crafting effective pitch sheets
- Understanding what editors seek in content
- Rebranding strategies for staying relevant
- Tips for building and retaining audiences
- A debate on the role of artificial intelligence in media
A highlight of the event will be a spirited debate on the role of artificial intelligence in media—a topic sure to spark lively discussion among attendees.
This year’s keynote speaker, Michael Schwartz, brings a wealth of experience to the stage. As a media personality, host of Gun Owners Radio, and executive director of the San Diego County Gun Owners PAC, Schwartz is poised to inspire attendees with his insights on advocacy and communication. His address will set the tone for a weekend of learning, networking, and activism.
The AMM-Con Committee is thrilled to bring together voices from all corners of the media world to share knowledge and strengthen the Second Amendment community,” said AMM-Con Chair Charlie Cook. “This event is about empowering everyone—from seasoned journalists to everyday advocates—to tell compelling stories that resonate.
Registration for AMM-Con is now open at saf.org/2025-amm-con/, with separate registration required for the GRPC. Organizers encourage attendees to mark their calendars for what promises to be a pivotal weekend for gun rights advocacy and media innovation.
